Looking into the World of Online Videos for Marketing & Recruiting…and other stuff.
Here is the the latest finished video from Peek Productions. The Emergency Foodshelf Network is a foodbank in Minnesota – receiving and shipping food to member foodshelves. They wanted a video that may draw in more companies and people sponsoring food drives & also companies and individuals to volunteer time at the Emergency Foodshelf Network (sorting and packaging food for shipment). I have no idea what happens to the food after it is dropped in the barrel, so I thought we would do a video showing the process…as well as a call to action. They liked the idea and this is the finished product.
I am very proud of this video…and I am too close to it to critique it right now (just got the final approval ten minutes ago). What do you think about it?
A blog written by a Minnesota Recruiter and Video Producer about marketing, social media, online video production, recruiting, and some about what I'm doing in life. Professionally, I am very interested in online videos for businesses marketing their products & services, and videos for recruiting for their open positions.

Eric – great job telling the story of donations to Emergency Foodshelf. I like the way you used fast motion to speed up the action and move us through the story. And I like the way you show volunteers doing the work – because my response is: I could do that. That’s not hard. One suggestion – if you do one like this again, you might think about audiotaping a couple volunteers talking about why they volunteer, and maybe a client about why the food makes a difference in his/her life. Then, make the same video but use the voices – the truch driver, the volunteers, the client – to provide narration here and there. Some people are auditory learners, and depend on sound for info. And, a voice narration adds a layer of richness. And also, people love to feel that they’ve contributed to a project like this, more so than straight video… But that’s an option for future work. For now, great job!! I hope the organization is pleased!
