Looking into the World of Online Videos for Marketing & Recruiting…and other stuff.
This is a 3 minute and 42 second video…interviewing 4 people for testimonials. I must say…this video is too long. I lost interest after a couple minutes. Each person said similar things and the similar things seemed to be grouped together. I would have made four one-minute videos out of this.
Content can not be repetitive in a video…or viewers become bored and stop watching. For multiple people, each person should have covered different points…or at least not re-cover anything said earlier in the video. Brevity is important in a video as well. I try not to make anything longer than 3 minutes…and I am finding more studies making me think 2 minutes or less might be better.
So although I don’t know if the majority will watch the video to the end (engagement might be a little low)…this is still a good video because what clients will say about you is very powerful. I just think 4 shorter, more focused videos would be a better format.
A blog written by a Minnesota Recruiter and Video Producer about marketing, social media, online video production, recruiting, and some about what I'm doing in life. Professionally, I am very interested in online videos for businesses marketing their products & services, and videos for recruiting for their open positions.
