The Head, Neck, & Spine Center of San Diego made a very nice video that is 1 minute and 7 seconds long. You meet one of main doctors at the center and learn about his background – thus gaining a face and personality to the company. You get to see the office environment and see a customer (like us) go into the office for a treatment.

It is a very clean and nice video that engages and invites us to see what they are about. I would think this is very successful in getting clients and likely referrals. Instead of the typical “cold” website where there is a barrier between the company and the rest of the world…this is more personal. In a profession that is about the personal touch, this is a winner.

David Breston is a lawyer in Texas who has several videos on his website. The main website has the below, “Why the Breston Firm?” video…his other videos are “Background & Firm Philosophy”, “Deportation Defense”, “Drug Crimes”, “Immigration Law”, “How to Clear My Record”, “How Clients Pay Us”, etc.

The main video is about 2 minutes and 15 seconds long – a very nice length…got the message across even to the attention deficit web crowd. This is a simple, interview-style video to tell his story. You find out what his expertise is and you get a face to put on the company/website. This will definitely start engaging potential clients and start building trust with them as well.

My only complaint is that he should have been looking into the camera. With this style of video…you should be speaking directly to the viewer and looking right at them.

This is a short video (about 2 minutes) in which Ann McIntosh speaks about what she can do for you and what to expect in therapy. In this video you can get a sense of her office and her personality. As counseling and therapy is so personal, this allows perspective patients to get a feel for her. “Does she seem like someone I could go to” – will be the question answered by those seeking her type of services.

She does seem a little dull and stiff, but if that is her personality during therapy – great! Good to know! This video gives a transparent and helpful look into her services and herself as a therapist. It doesn’t look like a commercial/show…that is a phony front to get business.

The big mistake, however, is that she has a website and she never gave her website address or location…just a phone number at the end of the video. I had to look for her afterwards to see if she had a website and where she was located. Don’t make potential customers do this…put it in the video!

ArcheryCountry.com sells bows and all related equipment for targets and hunting. This short 2 minute 41 second film was filmed in one of their back rooms. The speaker was not a professional…which makes the video better. This guy looks like one of the staff…so if I go to their location in Waite Park, MN – I will get to see him and other (now assumed) knowledgeable staff.

This video was posted on YouTube…so there are many finding out about ArcheryCountry.com through the video and likely buying online from around the US and possibly the world. Also, it was excellent how he encouraged the viewers to check back on ArcheryCountry.com often because new articles and videos come out regularly.

Now for the big mistakes…Although it showed “Archery Country” as the opening and I know he said Archery Country, but the end should have had their logo and website address. You can’t assume that hearing it a couple times will stick…some are more visually oriented (like many video viewers). They need to see your logo (brand recognition over time) and web address (in case they found the video through a search on YouTube or Google).

Blendtec has over 65 videos today…all originally inspired by destruction tests that the Director of Marketing at Blendtec saw being performed already. Now this is entertainment!

Below is the episode about blending remote controls. It contains two big pieces to great online marketing videos – it entertains and informs. You find out what the Total Blender can do – and you want to see what it will do to an iPhone, downhill skis, rubik’s cube, marbles, etc. Blendtec’s Total Blender sales have gone up 500% since beginning this video campaign. The videos have a huge fan base and attracts about 200 million views a month.

I showed a couple of these videos to friends and they thought it was so cool that they forwarded them on as well to other friends. This is a truly viral video with huge success…and very inexpensive to produce.
